Assault Rifles are semiautomatic firearms that have a large magazine and were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use. Common attributes of assault weapons include: a detachable magazine, folding or telescoping collapsible stock (which reduces the overall length of the firearm), a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and a threaded barrel (which can accept devices such as a flash suppressor, suppressor, compensator or muzzle brake, grenade launcher, or a barrel shroud).
