This Georgian Era Horsehead Saber has a tempered blade of high carbon steel which is mounted into an elaborately formed hilt of brass. The grip is wood which is tightly bound in brass wire. Included with the sword is a scabbard of brass with brass hanging rings. This type of sword is a good representation of the personal swords commissioned by militia and regimental commanders in Britain and the United States in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
